#AnnaFotyga🇵🇱 on situation of #MikheilSaakashvili🇬🇪

„I am fully aware that the time of his rule was not perfect. I was observing the 2012 elections, when the transfer of power took place in a very peaceful way. When the exit poll results became known, he acknowledged his opponent’s victory and behaved extremely peacefully. And what happened after his return to Georgia? In fact he has been sentenced without court. He had every right to come to his country. I hope for a true, open and transparent court. We are concerned about his hunger strike. We, some of his friends in the European Parliament, there are quite many of them, are concerned. We are more the friends of Georgia and we want the Georgian people to decide who runs the country. What is happening against Mikheil Saakashvili now is not right. Please stay firm. Please find a way. This is your role and not ours. We can facilitate, but the decision is up to you. The role of the EU, Charles Michel and Ambassador Hartzell in this process is very positive”
